Frequently Asked Questions

How do I purchase tickets?

Tickets may be purchased online while supplies last. While highly unlikely, if the tour is not sold out by the day of the tour, tickets will be available for purchase via cash or credit card at registration. The tour sold out well in advance in 2021, so we encourage you to plan ahead and purchase your tickets online and early.

Where do I pick up my tickets and items?

Registration and ticket pick up will take place at Hollin Meadows Elementary School (2310 Nordok Place) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the day of the tour (May 4). VIP ticketholders and sponsors may pick up their tickets beginning at 10 a.m. There are no refunds, including for inclement weather.

Can’t attend? Give to a friend! Make sure they have the tickets showing the QR/ bar codes, and they will be scanned at the door. If you don’t have your scannable tickets, you will need to present your identification to transfer your tickets.

If you purchased the poster or a VIP ticket or sponsorship that includes the poster, they'll be ready for you to pick up at registration the day of the event. (We will not be able to ship these items.)

Posters and other items sold by the Civic Association of Hollin Hills will also be available for purchase onsite during registration hours the day of the tour.

Can I bring children and pets?

Children under 12 years of age will be admitted free, but must be closely supervised in all houses and gardens. No pets are allowed on the tour.

How many houses will be featured on the tour?

The tour typically features at least 10 houses and/or gardens.

What is the tour route?

The tour is self-guided and features houses and gardens that are located throughout the neighborhood. Our volunteers will recommend a cluster of houses and gardens for you to start your tour, and you may visit these houses and gardens in any order. Old Town Trolley will provide shuttle service to designated stops located near clusters of homes during the tour. We encourage you to use the shuttles to travel through the neighborhood. Please note, we do not make public the list of houses or gardens prior to the tour.

Is photography permitted?

Photography of home interiors will be allowed at select homes. Please refer to signage at the entrance of each home and if you are unsure, please feel free to ask a tour docent.

Anything else I should know?

In an effort to protect the floors of the homes, attendees will be required to wear booties inside all of the homes. The booties - disposable covers that go on easily over your shoes - will be provided complimentary. Please hold on to your booties and reuse them from home to home.

Where do the funds raised from the tour go?

The proceeds from the tour benefit the Civic Association of Hollin Hills which organizes the tour and is dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of the Hollin Hills community.
